This article explains the difference between getting a Travel Pass / Ride bundle / QR Code / Boarding Pass VS Booking a seat. This guide explains why you need to book individual rides after getting a pass, on program that require booking a seat.
Many riders wonder if buying a pass or having a boarding pass QR Code means they're ready to board the bus. If you're using a program that requires "Booking ahead" (commonly referred as "Booked program") you now need to book specific days of travel. In case you bought a Travel Pass with Automated bookings (School Travel Pass only) you should check the bookings have been correctly processed.

Booking a seat after getting a Travel Pass or Ride bundle
These passes will be listed on the rider app homepage or in "My rides" on the web-app. Select the pass to open a list of days available to book seats for. Unless the Travel Pass has got "automated booking" turned on (usually only for Schools), you will now need to select what dates and times you want to be booked onto. To do this:
- Tap "Book" on the days of your choice (If you can't see any dates yet, or some days seem to be missing, Read this)
- A screen will open showing an option to book on the Outbound and Inbound (unless you're using a One way travel pass, in this case you will only see a single leg).
- If the selected trip is already full, you will see an alert. If this happens, try selecting another time or try again later (in case someone else cancel their booking).
- When you continue this booking will be confirmed, and a screen will open to allow you to "repeat" this booking onto other days of the week. This is effectively a "copy / paste" tool to speed up booking at similar time during the week. If any trips are already sold out you will see a message under that date.
- When you submit you will be booked on all selected dates (if using a Ride bundle, you will get charged the corresponding amount of credits based on the number of individual trips selected).
- Review your bookings to check all is accurate.
School Travel Pass with automated bookings turned on: please check you have been correctly booked on by our system. You may need to allow a bit of time for our system to run the Auto-booking process before all the bookings appear on the page.
I see "You already have this pass" error message on the booking page
This means you have:
- Successfully purchased a pass (Travel Pass or Ride bundle). Now you need to navigate to the pass page details where you can manage your bookings. Please follow the steps described below to navigate to this page.
- You started the checkout flow, then abandoned it. You should wait 15min for the booking window to expire before trying again. We're sorry for the inconvenience caused.
